I think they coined it “size inflation”.  They say that Marilyn Monroe wore a size 14 in the 50s… but would wear a 6 today!

I mean seriously…where can I get the rights to a product that fails 95% of the time and still convince people to keep torturing themselves and giving it another whirl?  How much IS weight watchers per week now?  The last time I tried it which was a while ago, it was like $12 a WEEK. 

But the saddest thing is that the poor people who think it is the only answer.  We really do need to start strategizing about how we can get the word out girls!

So grateful to be off that treadmill!

When I worked for Diet Center in the early ‘90’s, it was about $40/week for their program and all we really gave them was a vitamin B supplement chewable tablet which was supposed to contain special properties to control hunger. That company is out of business now.

Beth, keep a diary. You, annual, Matty, shanshan, jenny, ela, swan, and some of the others are right in the thick of it now and you have such brilliant insights. I think the time is right for a reprinting of How To Become Naturally Thin By Eating More.

Maybe this sizing trend will continue and 15 years from now I’ll be wearing a size zero, but will be the same body size I am now.  It will be interesting to see how far into the negative numbers they’ll have to go for people smaller than me.

Ever noticed that the more expensive the clothes, the smaller the size you will be? Do they actually think we are that clueless? LOL I used to make my own clothes when I was high school and I always just measured myself and bought a size 12 pattern and thought nothing of it. In the early 60’s, there was no stigma to any size. And I weighed 115 pounds in those days.
