body image and the signals we send

Hi everybody,
Remember that who you think you ARE, your self talk, what you THINK about yourself, and your ATTITUDE about your self and your body all have a POWERFUL influence on other people’s perceptions of you, including men, of course.  Working on the eating right part of the program is essential, but being transformed inside, becoming Naturally Thin in your head (long before you are actually thin) is so important.  I can’t stress it enough.  I let my weight problem rob me of so much time and so many wonderful experiences.
All your suggestions, like wearing good looking, comfortable clothes that fit, and seeing your body type as preferred in the culture, are great ways to help you enjoy your life right now.  Don’t wait!  Get confident—everybody has strengths and beauty.  If you need help with your confidence or your wardrobe, get it!  What are friends for?
Sincerely,
Jean Antonello

Article’s on dieting

As I was reading yet another women’s magazine with yet another article on dieting it dawned on me how free I am now from the blathering information we are bombarded with on a daily basis. This particular article explained how we need to eat in only one place, identify the people who upset us so much that we binge on foods bad for us, and how/why our emotions make us over eat. It upset me because of how untrue it was. If people, women especially, would only learn to eat well, and on time how different it would be for us. I may still be over weight, but I am free from needing to follow yet another diet, or way of eating, from the latest magazine, book, or reasearch, because of NT. And finally I have begun to lose weight. It’s slow, only 3 pounds per month, but fairly consistant. And the freedom I feel to eat quality food whenever I am hungry cannot be bought at any price. It is so liberating. Thank you Jean, for bringing the NT information to the public. It is amazing.

Re: why do we eat, anyway?

[quote author=“naturally thin”] Hunger is the signal that our bodies are out of ready fuel.  The signal is always legitimate, no matter what we weigh.  And it calls for the only legitimate response: eating great food until we are satisfied.

Thanks, Jean. The more I hear that affirmed, the more it helps. This has been such a struggle for me, to respond on time, to my amazement. But I keep plugging away.

Jean, I cannot tell you how helpful it has been to have your books for clarification regarding weight and eating issues. And now to have this forum. With all the heightened “war on obesity” stuff from the CDC, in the media, and now even in the schools, I’m glad to have your books as affirmation of the importance of eating and not dieting or trying to “burn off” calories.

I found your articles on the web a few weeks ago, with recommendations for kids school lunches and descriptions of NT principles and insights, and am forwarding those articles to others in the community. Thanks!

Re: Question for Naturelover

Jules,

My apologies for not defining that acronym! Yes, Guest is right, it stands for Big Beautiful Woman.
