Ela,

You can wait until your hunger is moderate to severe and then just medicate it with minimal food.  The only problem with this is that it will keep you on the Feast or Famine Cycle, and prevent you from recovering.  These behaviors are DIETING behaviors, even though they may be less severe than your diets in the past.  Your body will not be fooled.  If it doesn’t get what it needs on time, it will perceive a famine and respond to it with its adaptive mechanisms.  Check the books if you are not sure about what I mean.

lu21,

I am glad to address questions that are not addressed in the books.  You can contact me through the “contact Jean” option on the home page of the website.  However, if your questions have relevance for the forum as a whole, please ask the questions in a new thread:  Questions for Jean.

Thanks, Jean, I think I know what you mean.  I keep reading HTBNTBEM in order to deprogram obesity.  I may have still been on the Feast or Famine Cycle some days this past week.  I have sometimes questioned if I am really hungry and wondered if I have eaten enough at other times.  Some days it has seemed so simple and natural, and other days confusion and anxiety has clouded my perception.  I am interested in continuing to apply the NT principles to see what happens.  I am encouraged by finding some new posts here.  And I just re-read some of the testimonials on this site for encouragement.  I have eaten well, on time, and enough so far today and I have plenty of real food available if I get hungry again.

Many blessings!
Ela

Dear lu21,

I’m sorry I missed your post.  If you have questions, please ask them on the forum because if you have a question, I promise you that others have the same question.  This gives me an opportunity to cover topics that are unclear to many members.

I will be unable to address any questions for the next two weeks.

Jean
